Media processing

ClipShift reads the media files and disc sources you select to preview, inspect, convert, cut, join and import content. It processes media on your computer and writes exports to your chosen destination. It accesses file names, paths, media content and technical information such as duration, codecs, dimensions and audio tracks. Exports may retain source metadata, chapters or selected tracks. ClipShift does not send your media to xone.build for processing.

Local records

ClipShift stores preferences, saved presets, queue recovery records, activity history and diagnostic logs on your computer. These records may contain file paths, media information, operation settings, job results and error details. Preview and disc operations may also create temporary media copies and cached images. Temporary files are cleaned up when possible, but interruptions can leave files behind. Saved records and exports remain until changed or removed; backups or earlier recovery records may also remain.

Your controls

You choose the files and output locations used by ClipShift. You can manage the queue, reset preferences and use Clear cache and temporary files to remove eligible unused scratch files. Cache cleanup does not erase all saved records or exports. To remove remaining app records, close ClipShift before deleting the relevant app-owned files. Keep any exports or presets you want to retain. Deletion does not remove copies held in backups or synchronized storage.

Microsoft Store and other services

Microsoft Store handles app acquisition, payment and trial access. ClipShift checks the Store to determine whether a valid trial or purchase is available. Microsoft handles its account and transaction information under its own privacy statement. Opening website or email links, using network locations, and storing files in synchronized folders can involve other services according to their settings and policies.
